The Jesse Johnson Coaching Origin Story
My first career was as a math teacher in the NYC public schools. My mission was to dismantle the cycle of poverty. I wound up learning, enjoying, and self-sacrificing in the name of moving the needle around access for all people, particularly the low income students of color who were my student base.
And watching it NOT WORK.
I was so hungry for impact, for agency, for the genuine opportunity to bring my passion for my mission to the world. But I had absolutely no idea how to do it.
After spending 12 years as a devoted math educator, I heard a friend and former colleague talk about coaching and I instantly knew - my entire life had been preparing me for this. So I jumped. I launched. I hired her before I did anything else.
I started my business in my first two month program with that coach - with the mission of helping spiritual teachers and healers bring their gifts to the world. People - even my loved ones - laughed in my face, told me it would never work.
Well, I was relentless. This was my purpose, and I was DOING THIS.
Thank God I had taken the step of bringing in my first coach… because I very quickly had to face every single one of my biggest fears. The practice of building a soul-based business is like holding a massive mirror up to the depths of yourself. Your heart, your soul, your mind, your belief systems.
I learned the immense importance of having support, guidance, someone who believed in me and my vision. I also recognized the absolute necessity of having a blueprint - a map - a model. Something to build upon, with a seasoned guide to lead me through.
Working with my first coach taught me what it meant to choose ease and co-creation with the divine. I had to learn how to stop controlling - and doing - everything. Later on, this same quality of surrender allowed for the company to grow with the invaluable support and expertise of my amazing team. I really had to learn how to let them help me.
And I built a 7-figure business, coaching spiritual teachers and healers (exactly as I said I would) in two years time.
Now, my team and I help others build their own empires in service to the upliftment of the world. We have helped an entire industry -- namely, that of spiritual teachers and healers -- to change their class. We are here to facilitate exponential breakthroughs around wealth and service and to collectively expand our imaginations for what’s really possible in this life, in our world.
And we’re not done.
